THIS FRIDAY EVENING, 17th June, Phillip Island Winery is proud to host three acclaimed Irish Singer/Songwriters – Aine Tyrrell, Roesy and Darren Gallagher – for a great night of intimate music in our cosy cellar door.
As part of their 2016 Tour of Australia, having played at Port Fairy Folk Festival and other key Australian festivals and acoustic music venues, these three fine performers will bring the rustic cosy surrounds of Phillip Ireland winery to life (and provide the perfect accompaniment to a warm fire and a nice red wine).
Each brings their own style, sensibilities and approach to songwriting and storytelling. Wonderful voices, and brilliant Irish style, and with a critically acclaimed first album, launched last year.
We’ll be inside; it’s $20 on the door and the usual Phillip Island Winery fare of fresh food platters, fine wines, beers and softdrinks.
The evening kicks off from 7:00pm, with a support set from Jacqui Sterling. Don’t miss it. (Get some friends together, and book a table.)

THIS COMING SUNDAY AFTERNOON, 17th August, the internationally acclaimed guitar master Michael Fix is joining Australian acoustic roots and blues virtuoso, Nick Charles, for an intimate concert at Phillip Island Winery.
The Winery is opening for this one day very special event.
Michael Fix, originally from Wollongong NSW is widely acclaimed as one of the world’s finest acoustic guitarists. He has toured with some of the great international stars like Leo Kottke, Tommy Emmanuel, Anne Murray and Joe Robinson and won three Golden Guitars.
He is also an internationally recognised composer with film and TV scores to his credit.
Nick Charles has a critically-acclaimed career of over twenty-five years, and released dozen albums on major Australian and US roots music labels.
The Age newspaper described Nick as “Australia’s virtuoso of acoustic roots and blues” and Australian Guitar magazine labelled him “an awesome talent!”
Together with Nick Charles, who played to a packed house at Phillip Island Winery last month, this concert of Australian acoustic guitar greats, who are internationally recognised for their mastery, is not to be missed.
This tandem performance will encompass a mix of folk, blues and early ragtime jazz.

A COSY FIRE, fine wines, fresh food platters and live laid-back acoustic music… that’s the recipe for winter weekends at Phillip Island Winery.
If you’re looking for an escape from the winter chills, why not warm the spirit to the breezy sounds of live acoustic music while taking your time over a big, chewy cabernet merlot or a crisp mouth-filling sauvignon blanc.
There are usually tables available ‘on spec’, but best you book for Saturday or Sunday afternoons – after having been featured on Channel 9′s Postcards, Channel 7′s What’s Up Downunder, and in The Age and Herald Sun, there’s a bit of pressure on the ‘premium seating’ (closest to the fire).
We also have occasional concerts featuring local and visiting acts. Best you keep your eye on the website or our Facebook page for details.
THE COSY CELLAR DOOR of Phillip Island Winery will be humming to the sounds of local ‘a cappella’ group, VIVACE, this Saturday evening, 10th September, 5:30pm-8:30pm.
The third in the Phillip Island Winery’s Twilight Concert series, VIVACE will be presenting a repertoire of film classics with a mix of medieval and madrigal standards. Lead by Ross Fairhurst, VIVACE brings a completely different style of performance to the winery.
This is a musical performance you will never see in a hotel or typical music venue (that’s why we like to put on events like this).
Last Saturday, more than 80 patrons crammed into the cellar door to enjoy the classy southern-blues sounds of Tabasco Tom and Doc White.
They were backed up by Steve Williams on sax and harmonica (Steve has been a member of the John Farnham band since 1990), and also by Tom’s astonishing 16 year-old daughter Kaitlin on fiddle and vocal harmonies. It was a memorable night, one ‘out of the box’. (Tabasco Tom and Doc White are returning to the winery soon, watch the site for details and dates.)
Light dinners are available including a Ploughman’s platter of fresh-sliced meats, local cheeses and crusty breads, plus the usual delicious fare of cheese platters, dips, fresh salads and smoked trout.
Admission free; bookings accepted. Phone: 5956 8465.
Come and see us and relax with VIVACE - or join in if you like. Don’t forget we also have LIVE ACOUSTIC music on every Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
