SATURDAY 28th OF JANUARY, from 6:30pm, a great night of classic Aussie blues at Phillip Island Winery with Phil Manning and his trio – an opportunity to see ‘one of the greats’ in action, and playing better than ever.
A founding member of the classic raw blues band Chain, Phil is widely recognised as one of Australia’s finest bluesmen, and spellbinding on either acoustic or electric guitar.
In case you missed Chain ‘back in the day’, click on the link following for a clip from the ABC’s pre-Countdown music program, GTK (Phil opening on vocals, Matt Taylor on harp).
This is Phil’s second trip to Phillip Island Winery. His last appearance, three years ago, blew everyone away. This is one not to be missed… give us a call.
Also, to light the fuse on a great night of blues and R&B, we have the gritty, stylish sounds of Simon Curphey (founding member of Aussie R&B outfit, the Phantom Band) opening the show.

With legendary Aussie bluesman Phil Manning (and his trio) heading the bill, it’s going to be a great evening of music.
It’s FREE, it’s on the grass outside our covered courtyard, it’s next Saturday and it will be huge fun (there might be a significant birthday involved).
Aside from ex-Chain frontman Phil Manning, we’ve got blues guitarist/singer Tom Richardson coming, R&B diva, Andrea Marr and band, punkish rockers The Love Bombs, songwriter Laurence Szucs, Andy Stewart, Libby Shields, and local country/swing band, Bent Street.
There is Phillip Island Winery’s fine wine and craft beer available, strictly NO BYO (it’s a breach of our licence conditions), and we’ll also have a barbeque and spit-roast on the go.
Bring a rug, and make a picnic of it.
Date: Saturday February 15th
Time: From 4:30pm – 10:30pm.
Departure tax: 1 (one) bottle of wine
